The refurbishment of this late-Victorian one-bedroom first-floor apartment seeks to reimagine the home for modern living while respecting its architectural heritage. The project includes a full renovation of the kitchen and bathroom, alongside an interior upgrade throughout. Central to the brief is the creation of a more open and light-filled living environment, achieved through improved spatial planning and the introduction of an open-plan kitchen and living space. Original Victorian features will be preserved and celebrated, complemented by contemporary materials and detailing to create a timeless, characterful home that feels both elegant and highly functional.

The existing floor plan created bad flow throughout the flat. The positioning of the kitchen to living space was off. A simple swap of the bedroom and living room and opening up the kitchen to the living room made the home work much more seamlessly.

The new floor plan opened up the space allowing light from both sides of the kitchen living area making it feel larger. The bedroom now benefits from the large bay window.

Once the floor plans and furniture layouts were decided the design commenced with colours, patterns and furniture.
